          Bernard Mandeville's Biography

          Anglo-Dutch philosopher, political economist and satirist.
          He lived most of his life in England and used English for most of his published works.
          He became famous for “The Fable of the Bees,” consisting of the poem, “The Grumbling Hive: or, Knaves turn’d Honest,” along with prose discussion of the poem. The poem was published in 1705, and the book first appeared in 1714.
          He died on 21 January 1733, aged 62, in Hackney, Kingdom of Great Britain.
