          Auguste Trillat's Biography

          French chemist, engineer and biologist who patented a chemical compound of formaldehyde known as formol. In 1905, Trillat became head of the Pasteur Institute’s applied hygiene research department, in Paris. He was a Member of the National Academy of Medicine (elected in 1937). He died in Douar-Chott, Tunisia, on 4 February 1944, aged 82.
