          Armando Frigo's Biography

          Italian-American football (soccer) midfielder known as the second American-born player after Alfonso Negro to have played in Serie A, a professional league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian football league system. He played for ACIVI Vicenza 92 (1934-1939), Fiorentina (1939–1942) and Spezia (1942–1943).
          Frigo was born to Italian parents. When he was eight, his family decided to relocate to Vicenza, where he grew up.
          Armando Frigo served in the Italian Army during World War II. When Italy entered civil war, he joined the partisans. In September 1943 he was captured by the Nazis near the town of Crkvice and shot to death on the 10th of that month at the age of 26.
