Anne Hulton's Biography
English member of a noted family, who was the subject of a biography by Sir John Bickerton Williams, Memoirs of Mrs. Hulton, one of the sisters of Mrs. Savage (1820).
Anne was the youngest child of Philip Henry (1631-1696), an English Nonconformist clergyman and diarist. Her brother, Matthew Henry (1662-1714) was a noted Nonconformist minister and author. Her sister, Sarah, was the subject of Williams’ biography, Memoirs of the life and character of Mrs Sarah Savage, eldest daughter of the Rev. Philip Henry (1818).
Anne married John Hulton of Cheshire and had several children. She died in Chester on Monday, 6 September 1697 OS, “between the hours of seven and eight in the morning.”
