          Alfred Ditte's Biography

          French chemist who and became professor of inorganic chemistry at the Sorbonne in Paris. Around 1888 he was Professor of Chemistry at the Faculté Science in Caen.
          In 1897 he became a member of the Academy of Sciences.
          He died on 7 November 1908, aged 65. Jean-Baptiste Charcot named Mount Ditte in Antarctica after him in 1912.
