          Alfred Brauchle's Biography

German physician, naturopath, and member of the NSDAP (Nazi Party), considered one of the most famous representatives of alternative medicine in Germany.
From 1934 to 1943 he was chief physician of the clinic for natural healing in the Rudolf-Hess-Krankenhaus in Dresden and taught as a lecturer at the local medical academy. With his work at the Dresden Clinic, Brauchle oversaw the adaptation of naturopathy by the Nazi dictatorship until the dissolution of the clinic in 1943. For the first time, school doctors and naturopaths worked together, both in diagnosis and in therapy. The results of the naturopathic treatments under his direction were scientifically checked by the school physician Louis Ruyter Radcliffe Grote.
Brauchle died on 21 November 1964 in Schönenberg, aged 69.
