Alexander Young's Human Design Chart
3/5 Sacral Generator**Alexander Young: A Human Design Perspective**
Alexander Young, also known as George Alexander, was a multifaceted Scottish singer, songwriter, saxophonist, bassist, guitarist, and session musician, born on December 28, 1938, in Glasgow, Scotland. He is best known as the elder brother of George Young, the rhythm guitarist and founding member of The Easybeats, as well as Malcolm and Angus Young, the legendary founding members of the iconic Australian hard rock band AC/DC.
In 1963, when his family emigrated to Sydney, Australia, Alexander chose to remain in Britain to pursue his musical aspirations. During this time, he was a part of the band Bobby Patrick Big Six and spent a significant period performing in Germany, showcasing his dedication to his craft. His musical journey took a pivotal turn in 1967 when he formed the London-based band Grapefruit, initially known as “The Grapefruit.”
As a Generator in Human Design, Alexander embodied the powerful sacral energy that fueled his creativity and musical endeavors. His strategy to respond allowed him to engage deeply with opportunities that resonated with his inner authority, leading to significant collaborations and creative expressions throughout his career. He was signed as a songwriter with Apple Music Publishing Ltd. by Terry Doran, a close associate of The Beatles, during the summer of 1967. This contract was largely influenced by the strength of his song “Lullaby for a Lazy Day,” which captured the attention of John Lennon.
With Alexander on bass, Grapefruit received notable support from The Beatles and released two albums and several singles between 1968 and 1969. His ability to respond to the creative flow around him was evident in their music, which showcased a blend of innovative sounds and lyrical depth.
Alexander’s Human Design profile as a 3/5 indicates a natural inclination towards experimentation and learning through experience, coupled with a desire to share his insights with others. This was reflected in his music and collaborations, where he often explored new styles and ideas. From 1995 until August 1997, Young transitioned into music management with Proud and Loud Management in Hamburg, further demonstrating his versatility and adaptability as a Generator.
His channels—64-47, 2-14, and 18-58—reflect a deep connection to intuition, insight, and the transformative power of service, aligning with his Incarnation Cross of Right Angle Cross of Service. This aspect of his design highlights his commitment to supporting others in their creative journeys while navigating his own.
Alexander Young passed away from lung cancer in Hamburg-Sasel on August 4, 1997. He left behind a legacy of musical innovation and a profound impact on the industry. His journey serves as an inspiring example of how a Generator can navigate the complexities of life and creativity, responding to the call of their true purpose while enriching the lives of those around them.
