          Alberto Ulloa Sotonayor's Biography

          Peruvian jurist and diplomat. He specialized in international law, of which he wrote a treatise, considered one of the best of his time in the Latin American world. He was a professor at the University of San Marcos, Foreign Minister of Peru in 1936, senator between 1945 and 1948, diplomatic representative of Peru several times ambassador to Chile from 1952 to 1954. In his youth raided poetry and literary prose, one of the members of the group Colónida. He also made important contributions to the study of the history of Peruvian law and authored a biography of President Nicolas de Pierola. He was the son of journalist Alberto Ulloa Cisneros and father of the economist Manuel Ulloa Elias.
          He died in Lima on 27 February 1975.
