          Alan Wilder's Biography

          British rock musician who does the electronics and plays the synthesizer with “Depeche Mode.” Their hits include “Everything Counts,” 1983, “Master and Servant” and “Blasphemous Rumors,” 1984, and “Black Celebration,” 1986. They are one of the few survivors from the batch of electronic bands that surfaced in the early 1980’s.
          International from 1990, they had no albums for three years until they put out “Songs Of Faith And Devotion,” which premiered at No.9 in the charts in April 1993. Their specialty is often described as a moody delivery in minor keys with a squall of guitar feedback, live drums and electronics.
          The band members include Dave Gahan, lead singer; Martin Gore, songwriter; and Andrew Fletcher, business affairs.
          Wilder quit the band on 1 June 1995.
