          Al Gettel's Biography

          American pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the New York Yankees (1945–1946), Cleveland Indians (1947–1948), Chicago White Sox (1948–1949), Washington Senators (1949), New York Giants (1951) and St. Louis Cardinals (1955). He batted and threw right-handed. Gettel had a 38–45 record in 184 career games. He died on 8 April 2005 at age 87 in Norfolk, Virginia.
