          Åge Rønning's Biography

          Norwegian journalist and writer. He worked as a journalist at various newspapers from 1945-1964. He had his debut as a writer in 1954 with the novel “Fotfeste for elskere” (‘Foothold for lovers’). Rønning was a Catholic and issues like evil and God’s absence recur in his work. 1967-1976 he was an editor of the Catholic periodical St. Olav.
          In 1967 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and from 1980 dependent on a wheelchair. The illness also contributed to his texts becoming more and more condensed and brief.
          Rønning died of kidney failure on 31 January 1991 in Oslo, Norway, aged 65.
