Theodor Gies's Biography
German surgeon who studied medicine at the universities of Würzburg, Marburg, Tübingen and Berlin. In Würzburg he became a member of the Corps Nassovia in 1864 and in Marburg of the Corps Hasso-Nassovia in 1865. In 1870 he earned a MD and PhD. From 1874 he worked as a doctor in Rostock. In 1880 he qualified as a professor at the University of Rostock. Until 1909 he belonged to the Rostock Medical Faculty as Associate Professor of surgery.
He died on 23 April 1912, aged 66, in Rostock.
