Noted family, the youngest child of the English statesman William Cecil, 1st Baron Burghley who was the chief advisor of Queen Elizabeth I for most of her reign. One of Elizabeth’s older sisters was Anne Cecil, Countess of Oxford. Elizabeth died on April 1, 1583 in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
